Garbage has become a complex environmental problem in various regions of Indonesia. The waste problem is not limited to urban areas; it is also often deeply rooted in rural areas. Various legal instruments related to waste and its management will not change the situation unless concrete action is taken to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
The #MembumiBersamaWEI campaign invites the public to adopt an earth-friendly lifestyle—one that is environmentally conscious and in harmony with nature. Regardless of social status or background, as long as humans remain on Earth, we should all embrace this lifestyle to protect and care for the planet and all living creatures.
Through the #MembumiBersamaWEI campaign, we are committed to taking concrete action to reduce plastic waste by supporting the movement to use environmentally friendly drinking bottles—or eco-bottles. We hope this movement will become a way of life that takes root in our community, helping to create a healthier planet.
The #MembumiBersamaWEI logo depicts a shady tree covered with leaves shaped like a plastic bottle. As the saying goes, “What we sow, we reap,” this logo represents people’s lifestyles that fail to properly dispose of and manage waste, which will ultimately lead to negative consequences.
We also invite you to start helping reduce plastic waste through various activities that you can find on our social media pages. For more information, please contact audeliathalita@widyaertiindonesia.org.
